Celebrate Earth Day with a giveaway! – CLOSED

Light a candle to celebrate Earth Day on Thursday. Just make sure it’s an eco-friendly candle that doesn’t emit toxins once it’s lit.

I’m sure you’ve all heard of the butterfly effect — the theory that small actions can lead to big outcomes. That a butterfly flapping its wings on one side of the world will make an impact on the other side.

It’s also the idea behind Butterfly Effects, a line of natural soy candles and home fragrances. Their candles are eco-friendly (no additives, pesticides, herbicides or paraffin,) hand-crafted, and sold in packages made out of recyclable material.

The company is based on the belief that each hand-poured candle represents a small step towards preserving the environment. According to its website, “By educating our consumers on the benefits of an eco-friendly lifestyle, we aim to create more awareness and a greater appreciation for living green.”

They do that by offering green tips on a variety of topics , including soy candles, reducing credit card usage, and remaining calm in today’s hectic world.

One way to remain calm is to use their candles. And they are making that easy for one lucky Begreenminded.com reader, with an 8.5 ounce Simply Square Natural Soy Candle. These candles retail for $20, and are packaged in recycled glass jars. There are several great scents to choose from.

And in honor of Earth Day, 20 percent of their proceeds through the month of April go to The Green Gators Garden. The Green Gators are a group of fifth graders at Monocacy Elementary in Frederick, Maryland. Their vegetable garden is a way to get their entire community involved in growing produce and helping out the environment.

To enter this giveaway, check out ButterflyEffect’s website, and tell us which scent you like the most in the comments. We will have a drawing on Thursday, April 22nd and announce the winner on Friday.
